YOUR FIRE SERVICE HAS BEEN CUT!!
FROM 52 WHOLE TIME FIREFIGHTERS TO 34
This came into effect on 2nd April 2008
These cuts will lead to:
(as every minute counts)
West Lothian Council has consistently fought against these cuts, HOWEVER….. Neighbouring authorities on the Joint Fire Service Board voted these cuts through showing a blatant disregard for the safety of Residents and Firefighters of
West Lothian.
The Fire Reforms Action Group continue their fight to protect the safety of all West Lothian Residents and their Fire Fighters. We have raised a Public Petition with the Scottish Parliament, we are calling on the Scottish Parliament to protect the smaller Local Authorities and their Communities by allowing all Local Authorities the ability to increase Fire Cover should they feel that proposed cuts by Joint Fire Boards will result in an increased risk to their communities, Local Authorities can currently increase Police Cover – Fire Service legislation needs to be brought into line with this.
